This site is designed to promote two things: happenings in Cleveland, Ohio, as that is where this blogger resides, and events in Sudan, because that country's story is this blogger's passion. It is impossible to cover the issues of Sudan without addressing injustice.
Sudan is the country, Khartoum is the capitol. Darfur, in southwestern Sudan, is where 300,000 people have died in the struggle between Darfur rebels against the Arab-run government. In 2003 the rebels took up arms with charges of discrimination and people are displaced and dying still today. About 150,000 were able to return to their homes in the Nuba mountains, after fleeing 20 years prior, but there's no food, running water, electricity or jobs. The government denies allegations of rape, looting and genocide while launching an assault on the people of Sudan. The denials lead to more violence. Check out the timeline of Sudan's events from 1881 through today.
